This was a work sample for the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council for the Next Step Fund grant for 2022. My application received a rare perfect score. I became a grantee in May 2022. This grant was for writing monologs for Beautiful Boi.

Interviews with Brenden Lucas, executive producer and nominee for best actor, and TJ Ward, nominee for best supporting actor. They talk about their roles and how they motivated themselves for them. They each talk about how they related to their characters. Both young men were wonderful to work with, and I was extremely lucky. The film came to life with these two young actors. This was the first film for both. The nominations came from the Black Continental Independent Movie Awards. Little Men had 4 other nominations, including Best Short Film and Best Director.
